This week, I was very fortunate to be a part of the latest project from Motion Arc Studios, a young Sudbury production company that, if you ask me, is producing the best independent cinema in the city right now.
“Revisions” is a touching and often funny short, written by Shawn McLaren, about two best friends (myself and my dear buddy Ryan Demers), who have grown appart over their mutual love of the same woman.
They are reunited in order to put on a play about their now deceased love, but they each prefer to imprint their own memory of past events on the production.
The film also features Ricky Watts, Andrea Solski, and Deven Stillar.
The project, directed by the very talented Mathieu Seguin, was conceived, developed, and shot within the same week and is a true testament to the talent and creativity that exists in this community.
We shot the film in one long 16-hour day on-location at the Jubilee Centre (the home of the Encore Theatre Company’s [E]SPACE studio) with an absolutely incredible cast and crew. It was filmed on a Canon C100 digital cinema camera and, from what I’ve seen, the picture quality is amazing.
I also serve as a producer on the film, which is now is post-production and will be released soon. It’ll be a great festival pic and we’re all hoping to see it on screen at Cinefest 2013.
